What to look for in jewelry this year?

If you’ve been following Fashion weeks, you’ll probably know: this year’s jewelry is big, bold and gold. Shine is making a comeback, and long gone are the days of dainty pieces.

Chokers

Chokers have been back for a few years now, and we love to see it. These shorter necklaces tend to be up to 16” in length, and in 2023 they come in a wide array of different materials.

Although all chokers are hot right now, pearl chokers in particular are on the rise. Chunky pearl chokers are a great way to make a bold statement without clashing with the rest of your outfit.

Width is another fun play on chokers. Although in previous years we saw almost exclusively thin and delicate chokers, 2023 is bringing bolder options to the table. Of course, you’ll still be able to find both, so there’s no need to choose one or the other: mix and match according to your mood.

Vintage jewelry

Vintage pieces aren’t only charming, they are also sustainable. We’re seeing a turn towards more ethical fashion, so repurposing pieces and stones you already own is a great way of preventing waste.

When it comes to vintage jewelry, it’s easy to find unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that represent a moment in time. Art deco in particular is gaining traction: this style features strong contrasts, clean lines and contrasting motifs.

Finally, not all jewelry trends of 2023 are aimed at women. As more and more men feel comfortable expressing their personal style through jewelry, this year brings lots of options for them.

Traditional men’s accessories, like cufflinks, watches and tie clips, also follow the maximalist trend this upcoming year. This means chunky cufflinks to accent a well-tailored shirt and an eye-catching tie clip to make your suit pop: there’s plenty of options for the stylish men in your life.

Finally, bracelets are again a must-have for the year: they are an easy way to stand out without being too flashy.
